Simulate a counterweight

Hi all

In an assembly, I try to simulate the movement of a load and its counterweight

I have my load, my 2 deflection pulleys and my counterweight

All this is mobile and constrained on movements that have no reason to be.... But how do I make sure that when my load goes up, the counterweight goes down?

I can't find what connections to put to link the 2

The belt function doesn't work because you need a closed belt, I don't. My cable is making an upside-down U

Link distance values?..... But how to do it? one decreases while the other increases and vice versa

Now I'm drying.

Am on SW 2017 standard

Who has ever done that?

Kind regards

Hubert

Hello

You can also use a chain

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=orqr5ZhObsU

This assumes that you want to make an animation of your assembly because otherwise there is a simple solution which is the Roberval scale where you only have articulated bars.

Tell us what you really want because there are tons of solutions in mechanics.

Kind regards

Good evening

I just want to see the movement, check that the stroke is ok, that I won't touch any other parts in the process etc.... and that the chef is happy ;-)

Hello

In fact, you have to use an advanced constraint that I didn't know about. The linear coupler, as explained here:

It's very stupid when we know!!
