In SMARTBOM can we apply a designation to a whole column as in Exel (copy, increment), and is there any help on the use of SMARTBOM.

SmartBom only reads the properties of your SolidWorks files. He does not write them.

In my company, I have created a macro to fill in SolidWorks files from an excel file.

SmartBom is used to create an empty file with all the columns of empty properties, file name, file path, etc.

Then I insert the SmartBom table into the workbook with the macro. I complete the table and launch the macro that fills in each assembly or part file with all its properties.

But this macro is adapted to the properties we use and to our mode of operation: plan numbering, revision management, etc.

This necessarily requires adaptation and skills in VBA.

If you want to assign the same property to a series of parts, you must use the BATCHPROPERTIES or INTEGRATION utilities .
