Solidworks 2016

Hello

Is it possible to record in an earlier version with Soliworks 2016? If so, is there anything particular to do?

Thank you.

Hello

See this procedure: you need SolidWorks 2015 SP5 to open (but only view) 3D files created in version 2016 (but a priori not possible for plans).

In SolidWorks 2015 it was possible, but in SW2016 this feature was removed (due to bugs).

Possible return of this feature in SW2017, but honestly I don't believe it....

Not impossible, or as they said, it's a source of bugs.

You have to export the part in step or stl and then import it again.

Solidworks files are  not saveable to an earlier version

so a 2016 version will be saved in 2016 version

They can be viewed via the sp 5 of the previous version year -1

this is the major problem of SolidWorks in my humble opinion

since it is in SW's commercial logic to change the version every year

and these said versions are not backwards compatible

Yes, in fact it's visualization and you can't really work on the files, but you can use them in assemblies.

Hello

you can save as a STEP and then after opening the STEP go to INSERTION==>FeatureWorks==>Recognize the functions

it will allow you to recognize all the functions of the part to be able to modify it later
