Solidworks - Constraint between two rings?

Hi all!

I'm new to Solidworks, and I was wondering how to attach the rings in order to simulate their movement. I can't find a combination of constraints that works...

I thought about using a trajectory constraint, but I can't manage to set it up.

Hello 

When creating your two pieces, you created their sketches; You can  make them appear  and use them for constraints. The points  of the centers  of the two rings  then the planes and other standard constraints...

To put it simply, you can put construction points on each piece, one in the center of the ring and the other in the center of the section.

Then put them in coincidence.

Look at what I did for a chain with welded links

I'm not saying it's a panace, but for a channel it does

if applicable

Constraints are created via sketches

and the extremities of these said sketches are coincident

This allows a chain to tension it or make it flexible

I saw that with the staircase you had lost the best answer, but now I don't know because I had advised him to take the sketches to constrain and that's what he did.

yes it's not a big deal

but taking the sketches that form the rings is not good, you have to make other sketches 

and it is this sketch that is constrained and of a length that allows us to constrain well

the ends of these said sketches

but if he understood so much the better
