[SOLIDWORKS + EPDM] Block access to properties from SolidWorks

Hi all

We work in my company with a SolidWorks + Enterprise PDM solution (version 2015). We use EPDM data maps to populate part properties on SolidWorks. In the properties of our parts (via SolidWorks, "Summary information" window), we systematically have the "Customize" tab but also "Configuration specific".

Using EPDM data maps, the properties change in the 2 tabs. If the change is made manually in the SolidWorks properties, you need to change both of them.

The problem I encounter is that a person does not want to change his work habits (for more than 6 years though) and does not use data cards. This results in many different and varied errors!

QUESTION: Is it possible to completely block access to a file's properties via SolidWorks while still allowing these properties to be editable via EPDM data cards?

Thank you in advance.

Hello

Same problems in two different companies, there are always recalcitrants.
The problem was solved in the following way: making users understand that biasing data cards is not beneficial to them at all (make them take back the corrupted files in the right way, then check...)

Option 2: Customize the solidworks ribbon so that the shortcut doesn't appear, also remove the keyboard shortcut, and do it again if the person puts it back on until you hope he's tired of it:)

Seriously, there is no solution, except awareness...

Thank you very much Michael DELACOTE!

It doesn't solve my problem but at least it answers my question! ;-)

So it's a wasted effort!! ... and to think that it makes life easier though...

To explain the harshness of the situation, this user zooms in on his parts by systematically using the window zoom and not the mouse wheel.... We're on a big level! Laughing out loud
