[SolidWorks] Unknown Basemaps

Hello

For our company, we have created our own background templates. These models are all stored in a common folder, and all of our SolidWorks configs have this single referenced folder in the options. (screenshot attached). This folder contains ONLY .drwdot , .slddrt, .prtdot, .asm.dot, and asm.dot files. This folder does not contain any hidden files.

But over time, when in a drawing we want to change the background of the shots, strange choices have appeared in the list (see attached screenshot) It is a multitude of lines ~$~$a 0 .... These don't correspond to anything and clutter up our drop-down menu considerably.

How can they be removed?

We are using SolidoWorks 2016 SP3 on Windows 7 and 10.

Kind regards

Hello

Files starting ~$ are temporary Solidworks files that appear when a file is loaded into Solidworks, normally these disappear when you close Solidworks (unless the file crashes). To delete them you go to the folder where your basemaps are stored and delete like any file.

Kind regards

If it had been so simple, it would have been done a long time ago^^

Except that these files do not exist... Not found, even in hidden files. So it's impossible to delete them...

Then maybe in the "C:\Program Files\SOLIDWORKS Corp\SOLIDWORKS\data\templates" folder or in the windows temporary folders. A full search on the C:\ disk of one of the files should allow you to find them....

The "Models" folder is not the "Basemaps" folder

you have to look at the setting for "Basemap"!!

May the dark side reign over the galaxy...

I had ruled out this hypothesis because whatever the pc, we all see these lines ~$~$. So theoretically not related to the C disk.

I just started a search on the whole disk C and our entire disk P (where our basemaps are stored). No results.

In our configuration, the basemaps and models are stored in the same folder. And addressed in the same folder in Solid.

Also uncheck "Hide protected files from the operating system" in the folder display options...

Actually! So these files did exist!

Thank you very much!
