Solidworks, launch crashes at "loading task panes"

Hello

Could you help me it's been more than 20 times that I've installed and uninstalled it, I'm cracking, thank you in advance.

Good evening

Is this a first-time installation, or a load to a higher-level version?

Depending on the case, the remedies are not the same ;-) ;-)

Can you also  give information about the machine, graphics card, etc... and also  which OS, etc...

Kind regards

EDIT: OOooopsss grilled by @d.roger   ;-)

Hello

So let's go for the usual questions and the points to check:

- Which version of SW?

- What type of SW license?

- Which version of Windows?

- Were there any Windows updates just before the problem appeared?

- When uninstalling and reinstalling SW, was there a cleaning of the PC in fact?

- Which graphics card?

- What driver version of the graphics card?

- What type of PC?

- Have the compatibility checks been done? see HERE.

- etc, etc, ...

This problem seems to come up a lot at the moment on the forum so have you looked in similar answers?

Kind regards

Hello

In addition to my very dear colleagues whom I salute :-), is this an approved or pirated version?

sorry I confused it with my son 's PC

Yes, I looked everywhere, and I apologize for bothering you with this

Hello again,

First thing to do, check that there has been no Windows update or graphics card driver update that could be the cause of the problem then:

Provided that the problem does not come from a compatibility problem, to be checked first HERE for Windows, Solidworks, hardware and Office versions, second HERE for antivirus and finally HERE for graphics cards (if the graphics card is not listed it does not mean that it does not work with Solidworks but that it is not certified, see to update the driver if necessary)

Here is the method I follow for a clean installation of Solidworks:

- Saving all "parameter" files such as drawing, part, assembly, bill of materials, line styles, dimensioning styles, etc.

- Backup of Solidworks settings (sldreg file). See HERE.

- Complete uninstallation of Solidworks, cleaning of the registry and re-installation of Solidworks following the document that can be found here. I even give a little Ccleaner after cleaning the registry.

- For Windows 10, check that the 3.5 framework is installed. To do this, go to the Windows "Control Panel", then "Program and Features", then "Enable or Disable Windows Features" and check the line ".Net framework 3.5 (includes .Net 2.0 and 3.0)".

- Installation of Solidworks settings (sldreg file). See HERE.

- Solidworks starts.

With this method, from the 2013 version to the 2017 version I have at the moment, I have never had any problems.

For your information, I don't have a certified graphics card and lately, following an update of the driver, my Solidworks didn't want to start anymore, a simple rewind on this version of driver corrected the problem.

Of course, there is the usual phrase: Be careful, this method affects the Windows registry so to use calmly and with precautionsssssss

Kind regards

Pfff, it doesn't work anymore !, a crazy thing!!

Hello

Are you an administrator on your PC? Before restarting SW, check in the task manager (detail) that you don't already have another sldworks.exe process running because if this is the case SW cannot start, it will normally display a message like "Unable to write to the log file...... ", this message may be hidden behind the loading window.

Also fix the errors we see in your screenshot on the log and backup file folders.

Hello

Yes I launch it as an administrator, but I saw this is normal ??, now I have a big doubt !, if they should be activated and authorized how should it be done?!.

But in my screenshot on the log and backup file folders, how should I do my fix? and where is the error?.

Kind regards

Hello

For Admin Account Control virtualization, on my PC, processes sldProcMon.exe and SLDWORKS.exe are set to Disabled and process sldworks_fs.exe is set to Unauthorized.
- Are you sure you're on a Windows Admin account?
- Do you have write rights to the C:\Users\nom_utilisateur\AppData\Roaming\SOLIDWORKS folders and subfolders?

Can you tell me for each step if it works by doing the following:
- Restart the PC.
- Solidworks Startup 1.
- Solidworks shutdown.
- Restart the PC.
- Solidworks Startup 2.
- Solidworks shutdown.
- Solidworks Startup 3.
- Solidworks shutdown.

Kind regards
