Hello
I would like to see if it is possible to model a corrugated sheath knowing that it is wound. If so, how?
Personally I was able to wind it up by simply using "helix and spiral" but I would like my piece to have strictions like in the picture.
Thank you for your answers.

Hello
The easiest way in SolidWorks for this purpose is to use appearances:
See this question:
http://www.lynkoa.com/forum/solidworks/moletage-sur-3d-et-mise-en-plan
Note: a thread appearance could almost do the trick;-)
In this case, see here:

You make your sheath straight and then you deform.

See this link
everything is said to really create the rings but is file-intensive or goes through an appearance
http://www.lynkoa.com/forum/solidworks/comment-faire-cette-piece
Look and read all the answers as well as the attached images and files if I'm not mistaken
You can also if you want via the dimensioning of the curve lengths modify the appearance and then via the deformed tool on the centerline with curved tube shapes where the rings deform
Have a good day

I remembered this playful challenge, but it was impossible to find it on lynkoa...

Thank you for your answers,
I managed to reproduce the girdle I wanted. However, knowing that I have to wind it 5 times and that by just doing 1 turn, the file is already strong, I will change my strategy xD.
But at least I now know how to do it.
Thanks again ++

@gt22, don't you have any other ideas for mini challenges? :)

@xanthony93 when I do hacks like that I export in step and take back the piece. it immediately becomes lighter
