We wonder if we are going to invest in a Windows Surface tablet for commercial use above all (presentation to customers, at trade shows...), but does Solidworks work properly on it? Have you tested? Do you have any advice for us?
Not tested, but the presentation of Solidworks 2018 shows an evolution in the touch use of Solidworks. Depending on your contract, you may be able to ask your sales rep for a demo to give you an opinion on usage.
Tested on Surface Pro, Windows 10, with solidworks 2018, top for a commercial presentation (zoom, rotation, opening parts/plane, hide/show, cut etc...). After that, if it's for drawing, it's a little heavier than with the mouse/keyboard...
@jr_1 to use the well-founded remarks of gt22 the size of the surface humanly limits the drawing, but placed on a replicator and connected to a 4K screen with keyboard and mouse it is a machine that amazed me.
