SOLIDWORKS Ultimate: Are you familiar with this new offering?

Hi all

A new SOLIDWORKS offering has just been released, it's called SOLIDWORKS Ultimate :rocket:
But what is it made of and is it made for you?

Design sans titre - 2025-02-04T120109.833

It is a comprehensive solution that streamlines the entire design, simulation, manufacturing, and project management process.

This offer is therefore composed of:

  • Advanced 3D design tools
  • simulation and validation tools
  • data management and collaboration tools...

But how does it work? SOLIDWORKS Ultimate is cloud-only and goes beyond design to cover the entire product lifecycle, including documentation and go-to-market.

Would you like to find out live how to use this offer and find out if it is suitable for your business? Join our upcoming "SOLIDWORKS Ultimate Discovery" webinar  :spiral_calendar:
We look forward to seeing you on March 20, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. for a presentation and demonstration by our SOLIDWORKS experts!

Hello @Coralie Thank you for this presentation.

Nevertheless, if I may say so, in all cordiality, I think I am not wrong in saying that what would really be done for users would be a SOLIDWORKS STABLE EDITION.

A fix to the collection of bugs is, I think, THE majority request, in front of a pack that would include bonus bugs in addition to the old ones already in place.

Well, I'm saying that, but we all know that if it hasn't been done yet, it never will be. :pensive:

In short, it's still nice to offer offers.

PS: I hope you won't take this message badly and won't be too angry with me.

Hello Coralie,
Thank you for this presentation, I would have liked if it is possible in this pack to have composed with this ULTIMATE version.
it would be a good plus, with the other tools mentioned in this version ... To see, it's just a question... To be continued.

Hello @Coralie,
Thank you for this post. I signed up for the presentation.
I don't really understand the difference with the 3DExperience. SolidWorks Ultimate is even a fragment of the 3DExperience?

Hello @remrem
Our experts will explain the subtleties during this webinar! Write down your questions to ask them at the end

The pack could be interesting until reading "is only offered in cloud mode".
What Microsoft, Dassault and others have not yet understood is that by forcing people to pay for subscriptions that IS DON'T want, people will look for alternative options (and incidentally free like libreoffice to replace office for example, freecad for 3D design...) and that by wanting to win too much they risk losing EVERYTHING.

Don't forget that the cloud is not at home and that if your design looks too much like a missile (for example) it is possible that you will have the same concerns as this lawyer who stored the files of his pedophilia trial on the Google cloud (-> closure of the account and reporting to the courts).

Well, it makes me think, from an ecological point of view, is it really reasonable to cloud everything when we know how many server farms are in action around the planet just to check our emails, and that the cloud is worse?

A local ecosystem, sized to the minimum necessary and useful to the company's activity, will always consume (not only electricity) less than remote servers, which can only be called upon at the time of backup.

So as much as I'm against ecologists, I'm for ecology.

I'll let you think about it.

Between Solidworks, Solidworks Cloud, 3D experience, 3Dexperience Solidworks, 3DexperienceWorks, I add to that the different versions of each Standard, Premium and what if we added an Ultimate, so that no one would understand anything about our offers?
Thank you Dassault, but even though I've been working for 20 years on Solidworks, I don't understand anything anymore in your offers and this happy mess where the names look like 2 drops of water for 2 different versions.

And yet I learn about these topics very regularly, but the more I learn the less I understand these offers and the less I want to be interested in them to be honest.
I can't even imagine the new kid on the block who arrives to choose the most appropriate offer...
And the big problem is that I'm very far from being the only one to think this way.
See this link among others:

I can understand the policy of moving towards the cloud and its advantages, even if I'm not a fan of it, but the multitude of versions with incomprehensible names, leads us more and more to think that we are going to be fooled since we don't even know what we are buying or what we are missing out on.
And what worries me and confirms what I think (incomprehensible offer) is that we have to go through more and more webinars to explain these different offers, and despite many viewings for me it remains as unclear as ever...

I also agree with sbadenis,
I don't really like clouds, you can't see anything inside, it's a mess, I prefer to be above the clouds lol.

And at the same time, if there is one legitimate company that has historically always rubbed shoulders with the clouds, it is Dassault! :dash: :airplane:

However, if they want to avoid the crash, it may be time for them to come down from their cloud by getting closer to those who have agreed to board their company. :flight_arrival:
It is by keeping their feet on the ground that they will take off again. :flight_departure:
