My question is simple, in what format should I save my solidworks element (part or assembly) to then be able to insert it into a photoshop document? I specify that I only want to recover the volume (the contours if you prefer without having a background) and of course in vector image quality and not raster.
I want to make a logo from one or more pieces that I have created on SW.
Anyone have any experience on this subject, thank you for your help?
We design the programs of our machines. In the screen we insert vector images in .svg format that we make with InkScape which is an Open Source software.
Be careful using illustrator for my files, the .ai of SW is not a good vectorization. I prefer to go through a drawing (in ech 1/1 of the sheet) and then import the DWG or DXF into Illustrator.
Then I vectorize, I join and and I fill with the colors directly in adobe. It all depends of course on the color grading.
The .psd and the .ai remain low resolution files for my taste in SW output which limits the possibilities of work afterwards
