I open a question again because I continue my search to find a design software, not having a software yet.
A friend told me about ANSYS, so I called the distribution company who told me about SolidEdge ST10 which would be as good as SolidWorks or even better and that there is no longer a problem to convert an SE file to SW and vice versa....
So I'm on the choice between SolidWorks or SolidEdge and for the simulation: ANSYS or SoildWorks Simulation.
At the time when I was using the 2, SW and SE, it was almost identical (except for a few details, especially in drawing).
For calculation, Ansys is a fully-fledged calculation software publisher. Siemens may have made an agreement to integrate into SE, but I'm surprised since as with SW there is SE Simulation (http://www.digicad.fr/versions-de-solid-edge)...
I have the impression that the Ansys distributor you had is also an SE distributor...
For the "miraculous" conversions between 2 softwares, be careful, for it to work well, you often need to have both programs on the machine.
Thank you, it sounds very interesting, but what scares me is the communication with the other companies, they all work with SW....
I just got the quote for SolidEdge, it's an impressive economic ratio compared to SW > 7k€ HT Premium version with Advanced Simulation and Optimization against SW standard + SW Simulation Pro: 16k€ HT.... Without counting the training on one side or the other, we quickly go up to almost 10k€ excl. VAT
Economically OneShape is even more unbeatable, because obviously for SolidEdge or for SW you are stuck 1.5 to 2k€ HT annually in technical support... The first year is certainly useful to familiarize yourself with the bignou.
But next year I'm going to have to design one from A to Z : draw you and the welded mechanic, but there are 20 tons of horizontal pressure and therefore simulate the forces and the different problems that could happen on the model so simulation and optimization.
