Hello Community,
I would like to make a spiral with a trajectory.
In Solidworks I know how to do the "rectilinear" spiral (insertion then curves then helix/spiral) but I haven't found the trick to hang my trajectory.
Attached is the part file (*sldprt)
Thanks in advance
FREDERIC

Hello
This is a very nice exercise...
I will give you a solution. But the latter is far from being the best and has drawbacks...
But I'm sure the solutions will rain down :-)
My solution. Go through surface scans, and then, create a 3D sketch that builds on the intersection of the surfaces?
See the attached file.
Come on, it's up to everyone to do much better than me :-)

A small overview of what is possible :-)

Hello
I have a bit of trouble understanding and I am not the Solidworks software at hand. But I have the impression that you are looking for the sweep function where you need a GUIDE CURVE (your spiral) and a closed PROFILE (a circle representing the section of a spring for example).
The scan sweep your profile in relation to your curve.
hoping to have helped you or specify your question with a simpler JPG

Hello
Yes lynkoa.c.manager , it is possible to do this kind of thing, but be careful with the size of the files after...!!
Otherwise the question is clear... So I can't give you a precise answer.

That is why I said that this solution had disadvantages.
It's heavy, and it's to the detriment of performance on large assemblies for example... Which is generally the case with Mr. Legendre I think.
Indeed, it lacks a bit of details to give a "good" solution. Certainly it would have been wise to specify the usage.
Maybe other avenues to study by reading the free tutorial: http://www.lynkoa.com/tutos/h%C3%A9lices-complexes-avec-solidworks-2005

Thank you for these tips.
I'll try to be clearer next time, I promise.
I had put the beginning of my need in a SolidWorks part file and I should have put a jpeg (see the example attached)
As for the use, I can't tell you more for the moment!!!!!

I'm a little late, but for me the easiest way to match the image is this
Single spiral + bending function
