Solid surface / mesh

Hi all

I have a problem with a solidworks file that I want to turn into a massive (filled) part.
I can't do it.
The goal is to be able to do 3D machining on wood with solidcam.
Bust.SLDPRT (15.7 MB).

If someone could give me a little help, it would help me a lot.

In the meantime, I wish you a pleasant day

JeanArtemis

If you have a more recent version of your file like 2021 or 2022?

Thank you

Hello
Thank you for answering me.
Alas, no, I only have this one.
It is a bit dated because at the time I had given up, not knowing how to do it.
I'm trying again...

Sorry

Hello;

Otherwise you should be able to attach the native file or a conversion of the Solidworks to STEP, Parasolid or IGES version so that we can try to offer you solutions.

Hello

It's like the other subject: import of 3D scans not cleaned with surfaces that crisscross (at the crotch in particular) and holes → unmanageable for me under SW.
You have to clean the surfaces with a surface software that allows you to do it ' easily ' re-import into SW and then you can do something.

Hello, this bust is quite well known in the world of 3D printing, it will be easier to find it on the solid canvas than to try to clean it.

Thank you for your answers and sorry for the late reply, I was at work...
I'm going to do a search on the net to find a cleaner file.
This file is saved with a soliworks 2025 version...

WomanTorso_h150_w78.part01.rar (13 MB)
WomanTorso_h150_w78.part02.rar (13 MB)
WomanTorso_h150_w78.part03.rar (12.3 MB)
WomanTorso_reduced_size.zip (13.0 MB)

If it helps, I downloaded a paid version of this bust...

Good evening

I think I've found it.

After I put my . STL in meshmixer, I reduced the number of facets and then saved my file in . PLY.

I opened this file in Solidworks (2025).

From that moment on, I made a machining program with Solidcam in HSR-Roughing 3D HSC.

The simulation reproduces what I want (a draft for now), all I have to do is move on to the machining to see what happens.

Of course, I only machine the front or back.

I am 63 years old and I learn a little every day thanks to your advice and relevance.

Thank you

JeanArtemis
