Hello

Personally, I use the "custom property" panel on the right of the workspace.

You must first create or modify the template using "Property Form Editor" in the start menu.

You replace the values in your cartridge with links to the drawing file and as soon as you insert the part, the values are taken into account.

In addition, they are automatically updated in the event of a change.

 

I also created a link in my BOM format which is handy when you reuse the part.

Hello 

 

You can create document templates with the default properties SW parameterized

 

in File/Properties you will find in the drop-down menu all the available SolidWorks compute properties.

 

For the rest, you can use the SolidWorks or SmartProperties property editor.
