Hi all
On 3Dexp 2026.
In the scenes, there is no longer the plain white background...
It was handy for taking screenshots!
Anyone know the reason, or how to fix it?
hello here is the answer of the de lia:
What we know — actual reports
- There is a thread on the official user forum reporting exactly what you describe: since the update in 2026, the user indicates that he can no longer apply the "original scenes". 3DSwym Communities
- In this context, "original scene" seems to correspond to the predefined/standard scenes (probably including a plain or neutral background). The message explicitly says "since the switch to SW 2026, I can no longer apply the original scenes in this menu". 3DSwym Communities
- In a recently updated (December 2025) user discussion (unofficial but in the community), there is a post about a problem with "missing" views in the view manager / "Scenes" for the 2026 version:
"When I click on View Manager or Scenes for the workspace, there aren't any options showing, but I remember there are many options in 2025 version," Reddit
This type of feedback sticks with an interface/regression bug — the user himself says "I also saw this and very fucked off why they changed it". Reddit
- There are also reports on the previous version (2025) about difficulties changing the background color in the "Background Color" tab of the Scenes/Visualize palette. 3DSwym Communities+1
- The official 2026 documentation of the "Scenes" tab describes the mechanisms well: you can define a "Background Type" (when the HDR environment and the backplate are hidden, the plain background via "Background Color" must be displayed). SOLIDWORKS Online Help+1
So — yes, the problem you observe does seem — or at least — to be reported by others. It seems likely that this is a bug/regression in scene/background management for the 2026/3DEXPERIENCE release.
What we don't know (or not clearly) — the bug is not "official"
- In the Dassault Systèmes Publisher's Recent Knowledge/Documentation/Patches Base, I couldn't find an explicit mention of a bug regarding "missing white background" or "original scenes unavailable" in the patches for 2025/2026. SOLIDWORKS+1
- The 2026 "Documentation and Support Resources" help page mentions the ability to report issues, but does not publicly compile an accessible list of "open/known issues" visible to date. SOLIDWORKS Online Help
- The available testimonials come mainly from forums or Reddit — community, therefore not guaranteed, without formal confirmation by the publisher.
What to do to be sure/hope for a solution
- Check if, in the installation, the rendering module (or "Visualize") is installed and up-to-date: sometimes missing modules can hide options. Indeed, some incompatibilities in the modules (or lack of "Visualize") can lead to display problems. The "Rendering & Life After PhotoView 360" page states that 2026 introduces changes in the management of appearances/environments. solidsolutions.co.uk+1
- Consult official technical support via 3DEXPERIENCE access — although I haven't seen a public fix, it's possible that this bug is being addressed, or that it needs to be patched.
- Check to see if other users in your company or network have the same issue — this can help document the bug (sometimes these issues only affect certain hardware/software configurations).
- In the meantime, apply a workaround: manually recreate a "scene" with "Background Type = None + Background Color = white" — which, according to the documentation, should give a plain background, unless the bug prevents access to the settings. SOLIDWORKS Online Help+2SOLIDWORKS Online Help+2
My verdict: probable bug — but not officially confirmed
Yes — there are strong signals (user feedback, changes known in 2026) — which makes it reasonable to think that this is a bug / regression related to the 2026 / 3DEXPERIENCE version regarding "original scenes / white background".
However — since it's not publicly documented in the patches or official basis — it can't be said with 100% certainty until a patch is released.
Hello
Same problems on this new version. To get around the problem (while waiting for an update) is to get the scene on an old pack and go in which the appearances option would have been checked. (which I did)
Alternatively, ask your Visiativ technical support to send you this fund.
If you are on a SW Connected version, the path is as follows:
C:\Program Files\Dassault Systemes\SOLIDWORKS 3DEXPERIENCE R2026x\SOLIDWORKS\data\graphics\Scenes\Studio
Hello
I solve this problem by doing:
-right click in the graphics window,
- edit the scene,
- background: choose color instead of image,
-White
Kind regards
