I just read an article about the end of online licenses from February 12, 2022 on the Solidworks.com website. It's a big step backwards and the explanation that few users have migrated to this solution seems surprising to me.
Is there another solution because this system is very practical for teleworking and avoids the tedious handling of activation/deactivation?
Can be installed on your workstation where solidworks is located
https://www.realvnc.com/fr/
It's 2.8 euros per month
You install the server version on the workstation where solidworks is located and the Viewer version on your local workstation that you will use to work
Or by https://remotedesktop.google.com/ (Requires google chrome)
I tested the 2 methods it works well for working on solidworks
With us, the teleworker connects to our network via a VPN (inter-company) which allows him to obtain the license with the license holder.
Then he works on an external hard drive and when he comes back to us he moves the files.
It's not ideal but it's functional.
Otherwise I guess you don't have a VPN, how many workstations in your company or your network files...
All these elements are important for better advice.
And why not see with your dealer what he offers you as a replacement, because he is the one who knows the product best and who will be able to advise you with the various information mentioned above.
Then nothing prevents you from also finding out here to get an idea of the proposed commercial proposal(s)
