Symmetry in the assembly

Hi all

I made a symmetry of a part in an assembly.

Then I changed this part by doing "Replace components".

Following this change, the symmetry does not take into account the new part but still the old one, even after re-issuing it.

Do you know if this is normal?

Thank you! Have a nice day

Morgan

Hello Morgane,

Indeed you lose your symmetry which is normal following your "replacement". You have to recreate symmetry for it to work.

FYI, it only works if you replace it with another instance of a family table.

That's all for now

Reminder: To create a symmetrical part, you don't need to go through an assembly.

Open the original part, select a basic plan, and then do

Insertion/Symmetrical Part

This creates the symmetry autonomously.

All that remains is to use them in ASMs.

Hello

I proceed in this way, so I don't have a loss of reference.

Thank you very much!

To troubleshoot:
- Make file/open
- select the file of the symmetrical part
- click on the "reference" button
- change the reference to the new source part.

Otherwise the good methods are those of Olivier42 and AC Cobra427, to choose depending on whether you want 1 or 2 files at the output.
