Special tapping (creep)

Hello

Do you know if there is a way to creep with the drill assist function?

Indeed we have threads that dare to be created directly in the sheets with material that is pushed back on one side of the sheet.

For the sheet metal worker, it is important to know where the material should come out. But I don't want to create an extrusion of material in the sheet metal and then make a tapping. I would like it to be automatic of course...

Yours truly,

The only way is to create a stamping tool so that you can deform your sheet metal

Hello

Yes, it's normally impossible to do it with Solidworks (and the Drilling Assistant function)

Maybe there's a third-party add-on that allows this.

Otherwise you have to use the gt22 technique, with the stamping tool, and then tap it.

As @gt22 says, see the tutorials on library functions and adapt an evolutionary stamping.

Hello

Here is how I proceed for the representation of our fluorescent piercings. I attach a ZIP file with a piece and mep in 2016 and word file of how I did it... It's a hack but it works quite well...
