Tear Plate

Hi all

Do you know if there are Solidworks parts (in sldprt) of tear plates on the internet?

Thank you.

Hello

Why do you need  this tear plate?

For me it doesn't bring anything to the design after to make a rendering or a presentation you have two choices.

1st you apply a texture to a simple sheet metal

or

2nd you create your tears on your sheet metal (a sketch, an extrusion and a rehearsal)

your choice

Kind regards

Bastien

There are none to my knowledge...

To go further, the interest in drawing tear sheets is low and consumes machine resources.

The best I think is to draw a normal (smooth) sheet metal, and then if you need to show that sheet metal realistically, it's to apply a texture on that sheet.

To do this, you can apply a texture (which is only an image) of tear plate of your choice.

You can find this type of (free) images by following this link: http://fr.freepik.com/photos-libre/diamond-tole-larmee---texture_355316.htm

Hello

In general, we use appearances for such a rendering:

In the "high aim" menu or in the right pane, you can use the ball of 4 colors for appearances, and there is under "plastic > >patterned blue plastic footboard" that you can change to gray later, or "metal > steel > stainless steel footboard" (a little too shiny for my taste).

Don't forget to turn on realview to see the effects!
