Hello 

I downloaded a sheet metal part and I can't modify it and even the construction tree doesn't appear. in fact I try to unfold it but without result. Solutions?

Hello, this is not a sheet metal part (generated by SheetMetal)

This icon indicates that it is a Solid with no history.

If the geometry complies with the bending rules, it is possible to recognize the functions.

First of all, you have to create the sheet metal settings

Then try total recognition.

I've already tried total recognition but it didn't work  ..

Sinn do you know if there is a way to recover the history?

Hello, it is possible that the person is purposely doing to delete the history by saving in a format and then re-saving the file natively

So you only keep the body and remove the functions...

No way to find the original history from a Solid without history !

Eventually with FR1 you can recognize some functions, holes , extrusions, etc., but it won't be a SheetMetal history.

Try partial recognition.

Attaching the file, I'll try to look at that.

Hello 

Another solution can be to extract a surface (surface module) and rebuild this surface (Reglue tool). Sometimes Catia finds the original surface before cutting operations, connection radii, etc. that this surface may have undergone. 

But again it won't give the unfolded, and you have to do it for all surfaces.
