Solidworks 2016 License Transfer

Hi all

I am launching a subject, which I think has already been addressed.

Is it possible  to transfer a Solidworks license (premium 2016) from one PC to another? For example, I have a desktop PC with a large screen and for my travels I would like a laptop with Solidworks on it.

Thank you in advance for your answers.

Hello

Yes, the procedure is described in the attached file.

You should use a license management server on your network with or without a VPN for remote key retrieval.

Otherwise your reseller's hotline will do the job very well too :-)

Hello

Yes, you have to transfer your license. Then activate the license on the laptop.

Do the opposite to return to the main station.

That's what my service provider does.

Kind regards

Sandrine

It depends on the type of license:
- floating license -> see the @Azrod method;
- fixed license: see attached screenshot (it changed its name on the 2016 version! "Transfer licenses" was certainly too clear).

I often do it without too much worry. If it gets stuck (rarely, especially with old licenses that haven't moved), open a support ticket (it's blocking so it responds quickly).
