Square tubes

Hello

In Solidworks, at the square tube level, I have two different types of square tubes.

- One with "right angle" edges
- The other with rounded edges

Anyone know the difference between these 2 types of tubes? Is there a way to name them?
Thank you very much and have a good day everyone!

Hello

As a rule:

Right angle: Aluminium tube.

Rounded corner: Steel tube.

Regards.

In general for steel

Sharp Corners Square Section Tube Rolled Steel

rounded corners tube square section steel stretch

and often the sections with rounded corners are welded along the entire length.

Good evening

I agree with @Caliméro, but I will add that historically (about 10 years ago...), we favored simplified drawings, so the representation of tubes without leaves, it lightened both the 3D display and the drawings.

Today, SW manages all this much better, we have competition CAD stations (in general) and there are options for displaying tangent edges that also make it easier!
