Using the SW2017 SP5 Visualization Cube

Hello

Just a question that comes to mind, is it possible to use a visualization cube on an assembly to allow me to determine a volume to make a package?

Thank you for your answer, all of you.

Kind regards.

Hello

The problem is that the visualization cube apparently only works on an individual part.

So make a copy of the assembly and transform the whole into a single body if possible. I've never tried anything other than on an individual.

Kind regards

Hello

while trying to do it I came across the following proposal

http://www.lynkoa.com/forum/3d/fusion-un-assemblage-2-pieces-en-1-piece

That said, I find that it's a hundred times easier to make a sketch of a rectangular parallelepiped in the assembly.

Then you go into evaluate and there you have the volume with the dimensions of the three dimensions.

It's a bit clumsy but I did it in less than three minutes (which looks better ???) and you can refer to it as you want. In addition, a package is rarely a parallelepiped, especially the interior cushions. With my method you do what you want.

I use this method to define reserved areas which are often patatoid

I'm a follower of the KISS method (Keep It Simple and Stupid)

Kind regards

Hello

I think the easiest way would be to create a 3D sketch to encompass the assembly and dimension it.

Hello

Agree with Cobra it's the easiest.

I had proposed the other solution because it also made it possible to know the weight of the packaging possibly with a shell function of the thickness of the packaging

Kind regards

Hello

Let's see if the following macro suits you, it allows you to create a 3D sketch that encompasses your assembly...

Kind regards
