I want to get a laptop for my activity but I don't really know which pc to turn to...
I'm thinking of getting a refurbished one (budget about 600€) and I found a Dell Latitude E6540 15" Core i7 3.0 GHz - HDD 500 GB RAM 16 GB, do you think I could use Solidwork on this PC knowing that I use it mainly to make plans in order to have throughput ratings for my achievements?
Thank you for your answer I looked at workstations a little but in laptop it's quickly out of budget and proc above 3.4Ghz I haven't seen any, do you have models to offer me?
It all depends on how you actually use Solidworks. I don't do any surfaces, I have assemblies with a maximum of 1000 parts and I run on a DELL 15.6" Latitude 5580 intel core i7 laptop of 7th generation at 2.9GHz with 16GB of RAM and an integrated "graphics card" intel HD Graphics 630, the only concern I have is to watch not to install the latest graphics driver that crashes Solidworks 2019.
It seems to me that the Dell Latitude E6540 has an AMD Radeon HD 8790M graphics card and there I don't know at all if Solidworks works with this card.
The best is of course a workstation with a certified graphics card but indeed it is not the same price anymore.
