We are a project group that seeks to pool the power of several computers to calculate a study on FlowSimulation.
When we start a calculation, we have the option to add computers. So far so good. When we browse the network we find the different computers. So far so good too.
The problem is when trying to connect, it displays the following message:
"Unable to find the solver on the computer shown."Please check the installed version of Flow Simulation 2014."
They also have a connection problem and talk about the SPR 716628 which gives a solution:
As a manual fix for this issue, please perform the following steps on the remote computer (advanced users only):
1) In the registry, browse to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Srac\COSMOS_FloWorks 2013]
2) There will be a registry string called 'Flow Simulation 2013' within this registry key
3) Rename the string to 'Flow Simulation 2013_3' where the '_3' corresponds to a case where Flow Simulation SP3 is installed
4) Double click this string to edit the value contained within and make sure the path to efdsolver.exe within the '\binCFW' folder corresponds to the installation of the current SP of Flow Simulation (in the case of this example, the location of Flow Simulation 2013 SP3)
5) Stop and Start the "Remote Solver For Flow Simulation" in Services
Doesn't it need an option on the software to allow you to do shared computing? It seemed to me that in my company on some simulation software you can do shared calculations but the software must have the option installed that allows it. A paid option of course.
