Hello
Here's my problem; I'm in a plan with a background called "A3 series".
I want to change my basemap with a basemap named "A3 prototype".
However, when changing the background; I'm noticing some extra variables that I don't want to have in my file properties.
My drawing templates have no variables in "A3 series" and "A3 prototype", before saving my basemaps.
Do you know a method to avoid having new variables in my drawing, when changing backgrounds.
Thanks in advance
bart

Hello, what do you mean by new variables?
Can you attach a screen print?

Hello
What do you call additional variables? Custom properties or links in the block?
Are you sure that in your "A3 prototype" template you don't have any of these variables?
What are these variables?

if I understand correctly, you have to modify the MEP file.
Right-click on the drawing and edit the drawing
After you can delete whatever you want and re-right-click or click on the icon at the top right of the drawing to close the edit.
hoping to have been clear?

According to the official SolidWorks forum, the property is automatically added when changing the basemap. It's not possible to avoid this addition.

The only solution would be to create a macro that when changing the background, deletes this property, based on this macro for example:

To combine with this macro for template change:

To get started with SolidWorks macro, see my detailed step-by-step tutorial:

If you are changing the background in bulk, use the INTEGRATION utility , so you can add an "action" to remove the variables you don't want.
