Vectorize a pdf

Hello

More and more often, customers send me plans in pdf format.

These are usually images that have been scanned and transformed into pdf.

On these pdfs, they are 1:1 scale pieces, which I have to laser cut.

My question is simple,

How can I transform my pdf file into a format that can be used in Solidworks?

Thank you in advance.

Hello

If it's a scanned map, it's not easy, but you can try InkScape or CometDocs, but I think it only works for vector files!

After I haven't tried all the sites, but a Google PDF DWG converter search will give you a lot of results

Yes I thought about google, but I don't want to install several softwares, try them, uninstall them etc....

I don't have too much time. I'm already going to try with Inkscape.

Thank you

Hello

Ask your customers to send you a dxf file.

That's what our laser cutting suppliers do.

S.B, our customers are installers, so he doesn't work too much on a PC, they go to the sites, take the dimensions, and then the scans to send them to us.

GT22, I found my happiness on your site, but 180$...^^ A bit expensive for me...

Lucas, with Inkscape it almost works, but I mostly have a problem with the scale...

Not stupid Benoit!

I saved my pdf in bitmap.

For example, when I insert my image, I don't have an option to make my drawing automatically.

I had already done this operation some time ago, without any problem...

You need to activate the add-in:

Tools/Add-ins/AutoTrace

It's OK for autotrace guys, I didn't have it enabled.

As for the precision, it's not there yet....

I think that for the first time, my client should give me a dxf or a dwg, because there will always be a gap between what he wants, and what I'm going to draw...

Thank you all for your advice.

As for the best answer, I'm still trying to choose which of you answered better^^ =)
