Are your files local or on the network?
@todesco: The file in question is a demo file stored by default in the documents, so locally.
On the other hand, did it work before? What have you changed since then (Shift, driver...)?
Look at the Resource Monitor in the Task Manager. See if other processes are taking up memory and CPU. See also the level of use of the PC.
