Vsta 2015

Hi all

http://help.solidworks.com/2018/english/api/sldworksapiprogguide/gettingstarted/VSTA_2015.htm

Solidworks has announced support for VST 2015 in its new 2018 version. Despite reinstall(s) making sure that the VSTA option was checked, Solidworks does not seem to detect VSTA offering me the creation of SWP macro (VBA) as the only choice. I would like to point out that VSTA 2015 is well installed on my set. If someone has encountered the same problem and solved it, a little help would be welcome.

Kind regards

Hello

I had this problem recently.

You must, as mentioned in the prerequisites, install Visual Studio 2015.

Then I had access to the other types of macro. However, I had to repair the installation of "Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for Applications 2015"  to make it work.

Hi remrem,

Thank you very much for your answer.

Via your link:

Via the SolidWorks link:

Being under VS 2017, I didn't think it was going to pose a compatibility problem, I told myself that VSTA 2015 had the whole DEV environment shared with VS and that by "VS 2015" they meant "VS 2015 or sup but with VSTA 2015".

Just a shame to have extended the feature to an ide that is no longer available.

Hello

My link works at home.

I also thought like you that by using VS2017 it could work.

But no, you have to VS2015.

If you can't open the link. I go here: https://www.visualstudio.com/fr/downloads/

And then at the bottom of the page there is a "Previous Versions" button.

Have a nice day

Thank you very much for your help,

After clean install on another VS2015 + SW2018 workstation, I confirm that the problem is solved.
