Bending Area - SolidWorks 2014 - Sheet Metal

Since I installed SolidWorks 2014, when I make a fold with the sheet metal module, it automatically selects the "Bend Area" option and sets a value of 0.1

However, I would like to have the "k-factor" option with the value 0.5 selected by default.

Where can I change this setting?

Thank you

Hello

Make your first room by adjusting your settings.

And by saving it will save your preferences for the future.

On the other hand, if you change the settings again, it will change again.

Example: I draw a bent sheet metal with a radius of 2.6 and a K factor of 0.33. If I save, the next part I will make will default to the same radius and factor. Then if I open a piece from someone else on Lynkoa for example and it has a radius of 5 and a K factor of 0.5. The next pieces I will make will have by default radius 5 factor 0.5

Conclusion: Solidworks uses the last parameters indicated. Either entered manually, or by opening a room.

Hello

"

The SolidWorks application comes with a k-factor-based bend zone table in Microsoft Excel format. It can be found indossier_d'installation\lang\English\Sheetmetal Bend Tables\kfactor base bend table.xls.

You can specify different values for the -factor in various configurations.
You can also apply a default k-factor based on the material by using a sheet metal template table."

Template tables are included in the SolidWorks application and can be found in:dossier_d'installation\lang\langue\Sheet Metal Gauge Tables.

And a forum in English that talks about it:

To be set up in your part template file.

Precisely, I can't find this parameter in the part model...

It is not in property.

Check my words, and tell me if I'm right.

At the time, I asked the maintenance question. That's what they told me

@Bart: When I change the K of a piece, then I record, then I make a new piece, it doesn't keep my preference...

Then it depends on how your sheet metal is drawn.

For example, if you start with a flat sheet, Solidworks will ask you for its thickness and K-factor.

For example, if you draw an angle iron and then you click on Bent-base sheet, then it will ask you for + the bend radius.

I let the "Override default settings" box uncheck.

Strange, because at home, Sw always takes the last parameters, even without recording! This caused me several innatentition errors, so I asked the maintenance who told me that it was normal.

Just like Bart! It can be modified well (I just checked just in case), even when closing SW.
