2023 starts with novelties

Hi all

As you can see, many changes have been made as a result of your feedback :star_struck:

  • the 2 myCAD "sites": home page + forum have finally merged to give only one site, yay!
  • From now on, when you want to return to the home page, you will have to click on the myCAD logo at the top left
  • And click on the "back" button to return to the first page of the forum
  • A floating menu is located at the bottom left of your screen to facilitate access to the various services of the platform. You can keep it closed by clicking on the little cross below.
  • You can also find the latest CAD and industry news on the right side of the forum to stay connected

I'll let you test these new features and give me your feedback  . Don't hesitate if you have any questions to ask them directly on this question or by private message!

I validate all the changes, but I think that the ad banner should be resized slightly smaller:

Here it takes up 1/3 of the screen and there is almost no room left for forum posts (moreover the margin above and below this image is also very important, so even on a large screen there is room for only 1.5 posts.
Otherwise the merger is very welcome!

Hello @sbadenis ,
Thank you for your feedback, this modification is well planned, indeed it is much too broad, we agree...

Hi all

Small change since today: you will find a " home " button at the top right of the forum that allows you to return to the home page:

Have a nice day

FYI, apart from the spelling and non-translation, it seems that the question mark button doesn't work anymore and that the XP points for mn on the site haven't worked for some time (last update?)

@Coralie

A small anomaly or not
The first line that appears in my house in the main page is not in line with what is in the forum itself.

Kind regards

Hello @sbadenis ,
On my side the question mark button works, as far as the Xp is concerned I will look with the technical teams! Thanks for the info

Hello @Zozo_mp ,
I put the little user manual you created in "pinned to the top of the site" so that everyone can have access to it, but indeed it is only displayed on this part of the site and not on the forum, we will look into it!

For me no question mark works even for the other lines of XP.
Firefox 108.0.2 for info.
And it worked well when the forum was launched.
Maybe other users to confirm or not this bug?

Thin... It may be a bug specific to your account, I'm waiting for feedback from other users otherwise we'll look at your account!

Hello Coralie

the two parts integrated but with a few little tricks that indicate the split

When you arrive on myCAD you are asked to validate the acceptance of cookies and as soon as you arrive on the forum you are asked the same thing again.
Which is not very usual, although it is not more annoying than that :innocent:

Kind regards

@sbadenis

The same goes for me for the "minutes spend on"

I too am using the latest version of Firefox

Kind regards

And for the " ? ", does it work for you?
image
And for the others?
Am I the only one for whom this is blocked?
EDIT: after another try it works again when I go over it it shows me the limits.

Hello @sbadenis

For the question marks, you only have a stealthy message that is only displayed when you hover over the ? with the cursor.

For the minutes spent on the site it still doesn't work for me

Be careful to "post a comment in a discussion" it only works when you are in a group. If there is a VBA group and someone is interacting in that group then it must work.
For example I posted a comment in tuto (which is a group in itself) and it gave me some XP
On the other hand, being followed by a user remains blank. Maybe I'm not followed by anyone

Hello

I just found a feature that shouldn't exist

1°) It is possible to modify a colleague's message (gloupss)
2°) the message on the little pencil indicates the date of modification but not who is the author. (re-Gloupss)

What do you and my distinguished colleagues think @Coralie
Personally, I think that you shouldn't be able to modify the message if you don't have the status of moderator and even in this case there are graphic rules to be respected so that the author and the other members are informed.

Kind regards

Indeed the pencil appears on all the messages!

Hi all

Indeed all people with the status of moderator can edit other users' messages, however I thought that a notification would be sent for each modification.
So you want to receive a notification when your message has been changed? (history of the notification and the author?)

I think it would be interesting to be warned if necessary

Coralie hello,
For my part, I also have the possibility to modify a colleague's message???.

I still have information about tutorials, which are very old or even 10 years old, with no link or file, just sharing... Let's see if they should be deleted... Too bad because I was interested in them.
Here's a screenshot. =>
