What is "According to Standard" in Layers - SW

I'd just like to know what "According to the standard" which appears by default in the list of drop-down layers is for.

Wouldn't it be like the "defpoint" layer on Autocad?

A default Special layer with ASME Y.14.41-2003

That's all I could find.....

In your options, you fill in the trim standard you use, by default, it seems to me that it is the ISO standard that is filled in in Solidworks.

 

This allows you to adjust all the drawing  parameters such as bubbles, stroke styles etc etc...

 

Take a look at your options when you open a drawing (See screenshot)

In the "document property" options, you can configure the layers of all graphic objects: dimensioning (linear, angular, etc.), references, balloons, notes, etc. (where there is the possibility to choose a layer).

Using "according to standard" allows the object to be placed directly in the configure layer without having to change layers manually. In my example, the linear dimension is placed on the dimension layer and the reference is placed on the reference layer.

In fact, the name is poorly chosen. In my opinion, it is not "according to the norm" that should have been said but "according to the configuration".

I hope my explanation was clear :)
