Activating SSolidworks 2016 and Upgrading to Windows 10

1st point :  Problem activating Solidworks 2016 on an existing license:

To switch from Solidworks 2015 to Solidworks 2016, we have a key activation issue in Solidworks 2016  (following an upgrade from Solidworks 2015).

The error in question states the following message (also attached):

- The activation transaction failed.

- The activation number has been exceeded.

- Deactivate a license from another computer and try again, or call your reseller (3/0).

 

It seems that activating the key on SW2016 requires a new key and not an existing one!

Can you look at this issue and let us know for the 1st key tried and the other 4:

- Key 1:   0001 0027 3028 8633        (key tried)

- Key 2:   0001 0027 3032 3667

- Key 3:   0001 0052 1454 0087

- Key 4:   0001 0027 3029 3181

- Wrench 5:   9000 0105 8761 5844 3ZXX QQ6K

 

  2nd point :  Switching CAD stations to Windows 10

In order to switch to Windows 10 on all our CAD stations in Amboise, we have a problem with the graphics card of the CAD stations.

The equipment was purchased from Résomatique, our former Solidworks reseller, before the company was acquired by Axemble.

Today, the existing graphics card on CAD workstations is:   PNY Quadro FX1800 at 768 MB   or   Nvidia Quadro 2000.

Do you have any advice or solutions for us to switch to Windows 10, after activating Solidworks 2016?

Indeed you don't have enough character on your Serial Number (your first 4 keys have the same problem). It should have the same number of characters as your key N°5.

See directly with your reseller's hotline, they will solve the problem quickly.

FYI: as you have 5 keys (so 5 licenses), I think it could be wise to switch to floating licenses, a single serial number to manage (it's better for administration) and more flexible to use especially if you have different type of license (e.g. SW std, Pro and or Premium). In addition, you can install your SW on 6.7 or even more workstations.

For your Quadro 2000, it's compatible with SW2016 and WIN10X64 provided you update the drivers.

I bought a really cheap activation key on the http://licence-activation.fr/ site and it works perfectly well for me
