Displaying parts in an MEP

Hello!

I would have liked to know if it is possible to adjust the display of some parts in wireframe and others in Stops in shaded image mode in a MEP?

It's for a better readability of my drawings, I looked a little and I can't find anything on it...

(No need to suggest that I use layers just to change the color of the edges, I know how to do it but it's not what would suit me;))

Thank you!

Hello

You can put everything in shaded image, and change the transparency of the components you want less visible.

Or also, change the line font for certain components, by right-clicking from the tree.

Hello @Joss,

Unfortunately, I don't think it's possible in terms of the drawing.

On the other hand, it is possible, at the 3D level, in a new display state for example, to choose the elements with different displays. So, at the drawing level, by selecting "edges in shaded image mode" and selecting this display state, the system keeps the selected displays.

Not sure if I'm clear! :)

If it's for readability, maybe make detail views at 1:1 and put them in wireframe and the rest in shaded image!

My idea gives this :)

The cylinder is originally red.

@PL, Changing transparency is not going to help me for what I want to do :-/

@David, I'm working on a complete building, the detail views don't really interest me... Basically, I am making a plan for the implementation of an aeraulic network in a building in cross-sectional view, I want to put the building in wire and the ventilation ducts in color so that they can be clearly visualized.

@Benoit, I'll try your technique, I'll keep you posted;)

To complete, between "solid" elements in "shaded image mode edges" and transparent wireframe parts, you can put elements in "shaded image" or "shaded image mode edges" with a transparency. That way, you use a few colors to differentiate.

By superimposing 2 views, one that contains your building in wireframe and the other your assembly sheathed in shaded image with a bright color.

Same scale, same name of view, same position of the views on the plane! That's it!

Well, well,

it's not exactly the rendering I would have liked but it's the closest thing to it, Thank you Benoit!

Your solution, @david, could have worked but I admit that my assembly is way too big, there would be two problems: first, it would be difficult to differentiate what is above or below the ducts, and then, since it takes about 5s of loading each time I take out a hill, I should probably take a week to release 3 shots if I start superimposing views;p

Hi @ Joss

like some yes I know I insist ;-))

but I will play on the appearance and transparency of the wire frame

which will allow you to better visualize your ducts

@+ ;-))

What do you need to make it perfect?

@gt22, well I tried to play on transparency but my problem is that I see a little too many things in transparency so :s and then I didn't mean wireframe but Hidden lines removed, I confused :(

@Benoit, the ideal would be for my ducts to disappear behind the beams above them, there, it makes me look like it's transparent. I don't know if I'm clear but basically, if I have a hidden line beam deleted, if I have another hidden line item deleted behind, it disappears. But if I have an element with shaded image edges behind, only its edges disappear, the color remains. I would have preferred that the beam completely hides the element.

Joss, it's not said that I understood everything:) But

What I understand, you want the beam in the foreground to just appear in visible edges (without colors) and hide the ducts behind it? If that's the case, you could leave the beams in a shaded image with visible edges and put a white color on the assembly. Do you follow me?

If I'm missing the point, sorry. Maybe a small image?

Uh... So I'm not sure I understood everything. But apparently, on your drawing you can make hidden lines appear for some parts and hide them for others.

Let me explain.

You right-click on the desired room in your MEP => show/hide =>choose your option

There you go. I hope it's not too late for you

Sorry, I hadn't seen your message before Benoit...
You understood what I wanted to do but I tried in white, it doesn't really give what I want, since the shading gives me shades of gray... I still prefer to see through it. (Yes, I'm complicated ^^)

@coin37coin, Yes, I was familiar with this feature but it doesn't really correspond to what I'm looking for:(
