I'm starting out on TopSolid after 10 years on SW.
For the containers in an assembly, how can I make the drawings of the parts appear?

First of all, good luck... TopSolid is a good software, attentive to user requests, but in terms of interface they still have work to do (at least I left it in 7.12).
From memory, to get the plans, you have to drag them (in the room) into one of the representations (or do it in your document template). On the other hand, afterwards we can't hide them unless we play with the different representations. So a compromise can be to put them very small.
Otherwise when you make constraints in an assembly, you can easily with the + in the constraint function, create median planes without it polluting your construction tree.
