I'm looking for a way to alert the user when a file stays in the state for too long, a bit like notifications when a file stays a certain amount of time in a given state of a stream.
But since Private State is not a real state, I don't have that possibility. By the way, maybe it's not possible since the files in question don't exist in PDM yet?

Not natively possible on the vault since the file does not exist on the server.
Possibilities via macros. Otherwise, leave the user in front of a fait accompli the day he loses data because he has never archived.

Yes, that's the role of administrators, but to be one myself, and in view of the good consideration of the various emails and information that are relayed to our users, I tell myself that at some point I'm not there to hold their hand either 
You can send yourself an email automatically via macro to the users (you have to retrieve the private state at a given time and then check the status every n days depending on what you want to do).

Yes indeed I only see the solution by macro.
I need to improve my skills on this... I have a little knowledge of VBA but not at all the PDM API part.
