Mechanical Analysis - Application of Temperature?

Hi all

I am currently working on the sizing of a steel part (see geometry below):

The room is held only in the upper part and is used to lift hot parts (+400°C).

My question is as follows:

For mechanical analysis, should temperature be applied? Indeed, it seems to me that since the part is not "flanged" (held only in the upper part), there should not be any appearance of thermal stresses...?

Here below are the results (constraints) that I obtain by applying a temperature of +400°C on all the faces of my model.

Does this seem coherent to you?

In general, for the sizing of pressure vessels for example, I apply the "mechanical" loads (pressure, forces...) and I compare the calculated stresses to my permissible limit to "hot"...

Thank you in advance for all your opinions

Hello francois.l13,

Thank you for your feedback. However, unless I am mistaken, your calculations deal with flow simulations and my question is about mechanical calculations (thermomechanics)...
