Anamorphosis

Hello;

related to the question of shadow modeling, how can we create an anamorphosis of an object (an anamorphic projection), this is important in several fields (optical illusion, arts, advertising,....) of course using CAD software such as Autocad or Solidworks.

NB: There are specific software for anamorphism;

THANK YOU

Hello

In my opinion, you have to work on Solidworks on the volumes that intervene in the anamorph, then work the projections with a dedicated software.

For the solidworks log I already answered you

show us what you want to do according to the renderings with mirror-type supports, we can do the same thing on SW

In soft, to create anamorphoses, there is Anamorphisis : http://www.anamorphosis.com/software.html

It's old, but it still works. It's free, maybe it's worth seeing.

Now, to create anamorphosis in SolidWorks, I think the best way is to use PhotoView 360 (the realistic rendering module).

However, I say this without knowing what you want in the end.... An image?

The most complicated thing with Photoview will be to recover only the distorted image without having the volume in the frame

Hello

Here is a concrete example

- First of all, it is a question of recovering the developed surface, in this case of a curved shape (see attached *.sldprt file). For this first step , the function, "surface to flatten", allows you to make a first approach. However, here the surface obtained presents an anomaly at the lower ends ?!
- Do you have a solution to move on to the next step, which consists of adapting a set document (here in  a jpeg file) on this surface developed flat (obtained in step 1) and creating this anamorphosis to obtain a set document that best fits the 3D object.

Here, we do not want to obtain a virtual realistic rendering but a decorative document that adapts to the real object.

Hello @vincent Bourdin

Why dig up a post from 2014 instead of opening your own topic.

For your problem, just map your image, in French it is like inserting an image on a surface of any shape.

To put it simply, just re-save a jpg image as a *.p2m file .

From there, you just have to apply the appearance with the dysplay manager (you know the trick that is used to add color to an object or a surface.

Kind regards
