Hello
How can we display previews of SW files in the windows 7 preview pane?
The "show graphics samples in windows explorer" box of the SW system options is checked
Is there a manipulation to do in windows

Hello
The problem with windows is that if you have a thumbnail, it won't necessarily be up to date.
Only a PDM solution offers this functionality.
See this question: www.lynkoa.com/forum/2d/apercu-des-fichiers-sw-dans-explorateur-windows
What is your goal? Visualization by workstations without SW?
No! only for me and if it's not quite up to date in real time, no problem
In fact, in the windows explorer it shows me "no preview is available"
In this case, at home it works without a problem.
Nothing appears?
Hello
Can we have a screenshot of what doesn't work? Thank you.
Here is a screenshot of the windows explorer on a directory with SW files
It doesn't work after opening and saving files with SW?
No, I just made a piece that I saved in a directory where there are also PDFs
I preview PDFs but nothing with SLDPRTs
Try going to the Organize menu-->Folder Options-->View tab.
Verify that the "Always show icons, never thumbnails" checkbox is unchecked.
I had the same problem and it worked.

Here's a solution:
I had a problem with SolidWorks wherein there were no file previews displayed in the File -> Open dialog.
No preview shown
At some point I must have enabled an option that caused this behavior (I can't tell you why or when though). Even though the issue was seen in SolidWorks, the setting is actually a Windows File Explorer option. So let's have a look at the option and one other in the same area. Here's how to get to the option. In File Explorer, click on the Tools menu. If the menu is not showing in File Explorer press the "Alt" key. There's actually an option for showing the menu in the same area that we're heading to. In the Tools menu, click Folder Options. To show previews in the dialog make sure that the option titled, "Always show icons, never thumbnails" is disabled.
Get to File options
Dialog Options
Now file previews will show!
Preview showing
When previews are showing, you can also show a small icon superimposed on the image that shows you what type of file it is. That option is in the same location and is titled "Display File Icon on Thumbnails". Enable it to see the icon.
Preview showing with Icon
By the way, the menu option I mentioned earlier is in the same location and it's titled "Always Show Menus". Enable it to see the menus.
That's it!

This box is unchecked, I checked/unchecked it doesn't change anything
it must be unchecked
See this example

It's unchecked, here's a screenshot of my folder options
This is what I have and it works
Do a check

I have exactly the same thing but... No preview in the preview pane
Take a look
Select small icons to the right of the red circle at the top right
and play with it like that you'll see the diffs
Here is what I have with the same boxes checked or unchecked and still nothing in the panel next to it where it is marked no preview is available
To view the part in the right pane, just click on the part in your list
there you go ;-)
Yes I know
It works well for all other files (PDF, JPEG....) but not for SW files
