I have a question about 2D drawings on Solidworks, in the case of an assembly.
Is it possible to put a view in "Apparent Hidden Lines" mode (with dashed edges) and, in the same view, to display some parts (or subassemblies) without these dashed hidden lines?
In some cases, it could be interesting, not all the edges are essential and pollute / weigh down the whole plan.
In the design tree of your drawing, expand to right-click on the parts for which you want to show the hidden edges => show/hide => show the hidden edges.
To complete what @Bart says, you can display in "Apparent hidden lines" then select the lines that don't interest you, right click on them => hide the lines
In fact, to be able to display the hidden edges of a component, you have to be in the "hidden lines deleted" mode. If you are in "apparent hidden lines", you will not have the option "show hidden edges". See attachment
Okay, that's how it works. In fact, it's the opposite of what I wanted to do... Too bad, it's more complicated than deselecting only superfluous components!
+ Impossible to do this operation on several components in 1 go.
I tried by setting the default display style to "apparent hidden lines". It is then impossible to hide the dotted lines for a part or subassembly component. So, it doesn't work.
I tried it to disassemble you, so I put myself in standard in "apparent hidden lines" and only change the display style of my iso view (but it's the same for the others). I put it in shaded view.
By left-clicking on the desired view, the property manager appears on the left and in the display style you choose the one you want (see attachment)
