Assemblies: Directly free part insertion

Hi all

Is there a default option that would allow in an assembly to insert or create directly "freed" parts instead of "fixed".

I like to master things and therefore I never use the fixer function in an assembly in favor of well-defined constraints.

I am therefore systematically obliged to release the parts created or inserted in my assemblies... this many times a day.

You can use different constraints to keep your part moving in assembly. There are advanced or mechanical constraints depending on your needs...

When you insert a part into an assembly and click ok, it appears fixed at its point of origin. To make it automatically free, you have to click in the work area.

When you insert a part into an assembly, simply position the part anywhere and it will be inserted without constraint.

As far as creating a part directly in the assembly is concerned, I don't think it's possible because the purpose of creating a part in an assembly is to draw it by taking references from the other parts. So it has to be fixed so as not to generate an error by moving it.

So I think it's best to create the parts separately and then insert them into the assembly.

If you really want to be able to constrain your parts yourself while using external references, you can instead insert your external parts directly into your new part file and use them as a reference. You can then insert your created part into the assembly and constrain it. But beware of the size of the files and the processing time in case of modification which can become very long

Look in the assembly that someone had posted; I put a distance constraint between the two tables. The pieces are "free" but in the tree of creation they are not as such...

DSL for the name of the file but it was the name given by the person who asked the question

Same answer as PhilippeB with just one addition, it seems to me that the first inserted piece is systematically fixed by default whatever the mode of insertion.
