Capricious Sweeping

Hello.

Question of the day, which must have already been asked, but...

I want to make a round edging around a tray.

However, despite many tries, I still get the same error message.

However, my guide corb, my sketch trajectory cut my shot 4 well.

If I just take the sketch path, it works (straight ahead, which makes sense)

How can this problem be remedied?

Thank you

Hello

Can you attach the images and not insert them into the question? I can't see your smoothing setup.

Thank you!

Under Catia in this case you have to assemble the curves and lines, it must be something like this under SW

What if you only click on the purple curve as a path? Then in changing the options?

Alternatively, we can try to create a 3D sketch of the trajecoire.

-It's a classic jpeg.

-I tried many options for more than 2 hours.

Alternatively, we can try to create a 3D sketch of the trajecoire.

-Can you elaborate?

You can create the path of the purple curve on the first image in 3d sketch to use it as a guide curve for the scan.

And by any chance, when closing the profile sketch, does it work?

The profile is closed, it's a circle. Here is the profile sought:

Is the sketch on the plan? I had a similar problem and sw was stuck because my sketch was on a plane and I was changing plane following my curve.

so by redrawing a 3D sketch and then with a symmetry we get this result

in section but it's not good there is a cross with symmetry

Hello

I think it's not necessary to go through with guide curves.

You can simply check the "Tangency propagation" option to make the scan follow your path. You select an edge in your model.

Take the precaution of creating your "profile" sketch on a plane normal to your trajectory so that the section is constant throughout your scan.

Kind regards

I found the solution:

1 - I created a sketch plan above my tub.

2 - I converted my sketch into an entity.

3 - With the "Projected curve" function, I selected this profile. I took as the "Projection Face" My 2 mm sheet thickness seen from above.

4 - I then created a plane perpendicular to this projected curve on which I traced my sketch shape for my scan. (here, a circle).

I validated.

I only had to do my sweep in the classic way.

There you go, if it helps, I tried to explain simply with the help of screenshots.

@viking well seen, it would make a good tutorial
