Toolbars

Hello

Is it possible to freeze the toolbars?

Thank you.

Kind regards.

Hello

Which version of SolidWorks are you using?

Are you using the order manager?

Kind regards.

What do you mean by "freezing toolbars"?

You mean that it is not editable or that the position of the toolbar is set in one place?

Toolbars can be arranged differently between part, assembly, and drawing.

They must be defined for these three types of files.

Hello

the version is SW 2012.

toolbar that cannot be modified and sets to one place.

I don't use the order manager.

Kind regards

You can't freeze a toolbar, the location is saved (in the HKCU\Software\SolidWorks registry) when you close SolidWorks.

But that doesn't prevent the toolbar from still being moved.

On the other hand, you can save the SolidWorks settings via the wizard to copy the settings (Start, programs, SolidWorks, SolidWorks Tools), but this will not prevent you from being able to "move these toolbars"

basically you want to define your location and content of the toolbar but that your users can't modify them if I understood correctly.

It's not possible, you have to be cunning, basically the best is to set everything up as you want, then you go to Start, all the programs, solidworks, solidworks tools, assistant to copy the settings and save your options.

Then you would have to create a batch that when starting the workstation for example reruns the reg file so that the toolbars are always identical to the backup.

The positions of the toolbars are saved as mentioned above, except in the case of a crash!

To always find your toolbars, you must:

- position them in the configuration you want

- close SolidWorks

- Save the settings with the utility found in the start menu

If after a crash SolidWorks has modified the toolbars, simply restore the toolbars with the same SolidWorks utility (in the start menu), choosing "restore settings".
