Threads Database / Fine Pitches not found

Hello

I would like to be able to generate fine ISO pitches via the Threading module of Solidworks but I can only find the classic pitches.

Is there a database of ISO fine pitches to load into the default directory?

Thanks in advance

Hello

You are talking about threading on an axle and not about tapping.

In addition, beware of TAP or DIE, although the steps are available in both shapes

- What step do you want to take? and that you can't find!

- Which version of SW do you have

Kind regards

Hello

The pitches and diameters available in solidworks are incomplete, especially for small diameters, which forces you to create them manually in the toolbox database, it's a bit tedious but it's the only way to my knowledge.

Hello

I am actually talking about both Tapping and Threading. And my problem is not only with small diameters. For example, on one of my parts that needs to have a precise displacement, I need to make an M29x0.75 tap. This thread is not a classic step, it does not appear in the choice when creating my thread.

I'd like to know the method to create manually in the toolbox database.

Thank you in advance for your feedback

Be careful, you mention the thread module, which is intended for the integral modeling of threads (for 3D printing).

If it's just the classic symbolization that you need, 2 possibilities:
- it's for occasional use, you do "Insertion/Annotation/Thread Representation" and you put the values you are interested in;
- it's for a recurring use, and you have to go through the "standards": http://help.solidworks.com/2018/French/SolidWorks/sldworks/HIDD_OPTIONS_DATA_OPTIONS.htm?format=P&value=

It is indeed the integral modeling that interests me here for a 3D print.

I had at the time tried to create a real thread and thread in fine pitch

to see the compressive effect of a spring

There is no link via the Tool Box

which moreover is impossible to constrain the thread and thread for thread tracking with a Rotary displacement of the nut on the thread

so it's not yet perfect.

Well that's my conclusion

@ F.Lalande : You are one of those who wipe the plaster of this function which, given the number of questions on this problem of missing definitions, was delivered incomplete.

Obviously, for the moment, if your thread is not in the proposed values, you have to do it the old-fashioned way: sweeping according to a helicoid.

@GT22: I believe that there is a screw-nut constraint, in the same way that there is a constraint for gears.

Even with a screw stress

if you make a cut, the fillets are superimposed on each movement

despite the good basic position

it's not

Have you tried? I do and it doesn't work

And believe me I spent a hell of a long time there under sw 2017

My goal was to adjust the shock absorber with an animated spring

I can at a pinch search for the part and assembly file

and post it if necessary

or try it via the appropriate tool and give your conclusions

It's the same problem as with the gear constraint, basically, you have to statically and completely position the 2 parts in position, remove (or destroy but it's useful to keep them) the stresses that will be excess, finally add the helical stress (or gear).

It can take some time, in the case of an epicyclic train, to align the teeth with the hollows...

Attached is a small example. It is an asm with virtual parts and therefore autonomous, in SW15 version.
