I'm working on a Skatepark project, and for one position, I have a footbridge on a pole.
I drew a single pole (square tube) that I repeat. However, some of these posts will connect with the Quarter Pipe (another skatepark element with a large arc), so I have to drill holes in order to bolt.
I then have end, intermediate and middle posts.
What I wish is that once I break it down I could save as Pole1, Pole2, Pole3, etc...
Whether I'm in assembly or sub-assembly, it's the same problem.
Nice project. You can use the Save Bodies method. Right click in the tree view - show the bodies- right click on your part in the tree and save the bodies. In multibody part, this method will create parts and assembly associative with your original part.
In fact, since it is an assembly, the method of ac.cobra seems to me the most appropriate, you will just have to select the corresponding configurations at the different locations of the holes according to the layout of your rails. And you'll only have one room with multiple configurations that you can reuse elsewhere.
Ok to move (a next project) ALL to Mechanical-Welding.
Too bad for the repetition though.
So I think, indeed, skip the configurations. However, it will make my work longer because for the drawing, I will also create display states in order to show the parts considered. See how I present my file: see plan file in PDF.
Even if my plans are with SW2012, I also tried with the 2016 version...
Remarks : For automatic bills of materials, I don't like the announced flow rate in relation to the angles and in fact when the cuts are a bit complex, I found a trick: I create a trim by the principle of Sheet metalwork, and I display the developed. In discussion with workshop colleagues, this is a common practice (especially since it simplifies the dimensioning). I had my students make paper models and the results are very conclusive.
GT22 => I reinforced (not in a sling, but just with two extra bars) the area you specified to me. This educational project was based on an existing site, we (almost) simply have to copy. I'm attaching the pictures (in another reply to attach my parts)
THANK YOU for your advice, and have a good Sunday ;-)
