Good evening everyone, how to make a local cut on a cross-sectional view?

Good evening everyone. I would like to know how to make a local cut such as showing a key on an axis on a section view, SolidWorks tells me that it cannot execute this function in a view that is already in section. Is there a solution?

Good evening

Here are two links that might help you...

I have a trick that sometimes works, it depends on the subject

If it's the crankcases that are cut to see the inside for example

Thank you for your answers.. Alain.erp it's like you said it's a cross-sectional housing and to make a view of the frame on an axis that is inside....

Local sections cannot be made in a cross-sectional view, at least so far.

One trick is to go into the assembly template, make a sketch and put a large rectangle that encompasses the whole subject.

Then do the "Material Removal" function on only one side, the one you want to cut next.

Of course, assembly configurations must be made.

Assembly configuration without cutting

A configuration with the cut.

Then, we create a section view in the drawing that we take out of the sheet to put in place the view with "Cut" config well aligned with the view that creates the section.

We must then "dress" this cut view with hatching.

But as it is not a real cross-sectional view, you can make local cuts there.

For a lot of subjects, this gives a good result.

Especially when the local cuts are numerous and "chiadée" to make.

Disadvantage of the method: some trim hatching will not be correct: those of fixing screws for example where the hatching "fits" the threaded part of the screw.
