Display bug - a solution?

Hello

I am on SW 2010 SP4.0

I have a problem in several assemblies of a project (no problems in other projects) where the global assembly appears in wireframe/transparent then disappears as soon as I move the mouse a little too much to not reappear.

When I open parts of the assembly, no problem I see them. When I open assemblies it depends, some work very well, others have the same problem but don't necessarily disappear when I move the mouse...

In terms of screen printing, I can make small views (but confidential project...)

It may be a bit vague, don't hesitate to ask me to explain points...

Thank you for your help

Hello, are you up to date with graphics card driver updates??? Is it certified by Solidworks???

Cdt

G.

I can't find the info, it's an ATI FirePro V8700 (FireGL). Up-to-date driver.

But it only bugs on this project. Which is nothing extraordinary, compared to the others...

What is the brand of your computer??? I don't have the impression that your graphics card is certified with Solid.

If not, have you tried to lower the resolution of your set?

edit: see this: http://www.solidworks.com/sw/support/videocardtesting.html

No brand.

The PC was there long before me. I don't know who it was ridden by.

The link given is only for Solidwokrs 2015 and above. And my graphics card is not there. But it's strange to have this bug only on this project...

Anyway, it's planned that we will change the PCs in September (sold at the same time as the 2017 license by Axemble). But in the meantime I'd like to find a way to get this project back.

Check that your parts are resolved and not lightened (I don't know if at the time the option existed) see also if you are in "complex assembly" mode)

So everything is well resolved. On the other hand, I don't know the complex assembly mode. Can we see that where?

In "tools".

Also try to delete (grey) sets and re-activate them one by one, maybe solid is just very slow to rebuild the whole thing.

I found the mode complex. it doesn't change anything

Can I have a partial picture please???

This is a partial picture

FYI, there is the same problem on my colleague's workstation (only for this project too)

Stupid question but good; Did you right-click on the whole thing and change the transparency!? or right-click, show the bodies.

And if you open the parts that don't appear in the assembly, do you see them clearly? And if the rooms and the whole thing are open, does it change anything???

Cdt

You are right to go back to the basic manipulations but unfortunately yes, I have already tried that.

I try all the possibilities but here... on the Solidworks site I found Firepro graphics cards but not at Ati but at AMD... and it's not the V8700 but the V8800... moreover I confirm that I couldn't go back beyond SLD2015 and Windows 8.1...

Have you tried to remove all the components of the assembly and re-enable them one by one, in order to see when the problem occurs???

Otherwise, last solution proposal, send a ticket to support...

I tried yes. Any component, even if it's the only one not deleted in the assembly, appears transparent. If I open it, it appears well.

Moreover the display is not really transparent (see attached screenshot) or I have a difference when I put the part transparent.

Indeed, we can clearly see the display bug and not a transparency of the part... When you open the task manager, the perf. are high or rather low???

One more question comes to me. The computer is old, has it been cleaned recently??? defragmented????

If you have a PDM have done "get the latest version"???

I don't have a performance difference on the task manager when I'm on this project than on another

yes all that's left is to clean the computer and/or ask for help from the support which may take a long time to answer...

sorry I can't help you better...

G.

Ok well no big deal. Thank you anyway. If anyone else has any suggestions, I remain listening.
