Calculate the area of the sheet metal required in the unfolded state

Hello

 

Context:

This is a sheet metal part made in solidworks using the corresponding module.

I present it to you here once "unfolded"

 

Problem:

I can't calculate the area of my raw  sheet metal needed (see attachment) using the "measure" tool of solidworks.

Don't get me wrong, the area of the sheet once cut does not interest me, I am of course talking about the area of the raw sheet.

I can find it by measuring the lengths of the sides, or by creating a good-sized surface,

But doesn't SolidWorks include a function directly?

Hello

 

To do this, you have to go to the "List of welded parts" folder, right-click, update and check "automatic".

Then in the properties of the article of the welded parts that are created underneath, all the properties are filled in including that of the surface of the sheet metal sidewall.

 

These properties are recoverable on the sheet metal drawing, right click on the unfolded view and choose "Annotations" and "Welded Parts List Properties"!
