EPDM Property Map - Materials

Hi all

I encounter a problem when creating a piece. I always specify the material of this one via SolidWorks in the tree on the left. Normally, thanks to the management of the EPDM, this property should be found in the property card of the part. However, this is not the case unless before saving my part I click on its properties in Solidworks... I admit I don't really understand, do you have any ideas?

Thank you for your help:)

Sincerely,

Audrey.

Hello

Several avenues:
Let's assume that your material variable is "Material"

The part must have the Material property equal to: "SW-Material@*PART NAME*. SLDPRT"

If you want this variable to be carried over to the data map, you need a box that calls the variable "Material"

Finally, the "Material"  variable setting must be bound to the CustomProperty block and read/inject the "Material" variable for sldprt extension files.

Hoping to have been clear:)

Hello

Yes, quite clear and it is already the case:)

But if I save the part without having clicked on the properties first, my epdm properties map doesn't take it into account...

It's this problem that I don't understand, from the moment I go to see the property of the part in SolidWorks it shows it to me automatically in the epdm property map, if I don't do it, it remains in "unspecified materials"...

Thank you:)

Hello

I have already had this problem with files created before the PDM implementation , is it only for these files or the new ones are also impacted? If it's for all the files I don't see!

Which Solidworks/PDM versions are you on?

Hello

The problem is also on the new files created unfortunately...

We are on version 2018 SP2.0

Is the property present in your part template file?

Hello

Can you send:

  1. - A printout screen of the setting of the material variable
  2. - The value of this variable in the template file (.prtdot)
  3. - A printout screen of the material box setup in the PDM data map (map editor)

Hello

Attached are the requested documents, thank you for your help!

Kind regards

Audrey.

Hello
Is your "Material" property also present in the "Configuration Specific" tab of your document template in Solidworks?
If not, can you try by putting it in this tab as well?
FYI, you should be able to put "SW-Material" without the "@*PART NAME*. SLDPRT" which follows, see example below:

Kind regards
